9AM – 7PM

9AM – Meet at Hachioji Station, Drive to Takao
Our guide will meet at the ticket gates of Hachioji Station and drive you to the foot of Mt. Takao.
9:30AM – Hike Mt. Takao
You will begin your hike up the mountain. There are 6 routes up the mountain, ranging from a well paved wide road, the busiest option, to a steep and rocky trail through the mountain, or you can take a cable car all the way up if you like. We will stop at a Monkey Park and Wildflower Garden along the way, and you can see some shrines and Waterfalls too!
1PM – Hachioji Ramen Lunch
Hachioji Ramen is a famous style of Ramen that originated in Hachioji. It uses a soy sauce based broth, and is sold in stores all across Japan. We’ll enjoy some Hachioji Ramen before heading to the Onsen!
1:30PM – Takao Hot Springs & Sauna
At the base of Mt. Takao, we will enjoy some peaceful relaxation at a beautiful Hot Spring. There is a Sauna, and multiple outdoor and indoor Hot Springs that you can use as you please. There is also a restaurant where you can get food or drinks, massage chairs, and a full body massage service available. Let us know beforehand if you want to add some pampering to the relaxation.
3PM – Hachioji Castle Ruins
Hachioji Castle was built in the 1570s, only to be destroyed by Samurais in the 1580s during the feudal wars. It now lays in ruins, but certain parts have been restored and preserved, and it was proclaimed a National Historic Site in 1951. We’ll check out this living piece of history, which some rumor to be haunted!
5:30PM – Yakiniku / Izakaya Dinner
No better way to end the day than with some good food! Yakiniku is a grilled BBQ style originating in Korea but adapted as an integral part of Japanese food culture. Fresh meat and vegetables are brought to your table and you grill them to your liking and eat them fresh off the grill. Izakayas are traditional Japanese restaurants which offer a wide variety of Japanese dishes, from Ramen to Sushi to Edamame to Takoyaki and many more. Also Sake, and beer, plenty of beer. We’ll take you to a top tier Yakiniku or Izakaya in Hachioji, your choice, to top off the day.
